FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mallory Moore leads the women Mounties to a 65-58 win over Chestnut Hill to finish off the Bloomsburg University Classic

Mallory Moore was able to sink seven of her ten shots as she became the game high scorer with 14 points Sunday night as the Mountaineer women won over Chestnut Hill College to cap off the Bloomsburg University Classic.

The Mountaineers’ defense held Chestnut Hill to only taking the lead one time in the first half. Chestnut Hill had as much as a seven-point lead before Mansfield went on a nine point run with a jumper from Katie Akins, a layup from Alicia Espigh, a layup from Courtney Brooks followed by two of her free throws and a jumper from Rebecca Pollack.

Behind Moore’s total points, Mallory Hafer and Brooks each scored nine points. Brooks also led the Mountaineers with seven rebounds followed by Katie McBroom with six.

The Mountaineers will be in action again on December 1 when the host Penn College. The home game starts at 7 pm.
